Cortney Crenshaw

Dance Teacher

Ms. Cortney Crenshaw first joined the ACPA staff during the 2009-2010 school year. She is the instructor and director of the current dance program at ACPA. Ms. Crenshaw received her Master of Arts degree in education from Ashford University and a BFA in dance (with emphasis in education and distinction in dance) from The Ohio State University.

She received her formal dance training from Ballet Met and the Columbus Youth Ballet Academy (currently the Columbus City Ballet School) in the Columbus, Ohio area. Upon graduating from OSU she auditioned for and was accepted into several dance companies but decided that her gifting was in teaching.

Ms. Crenshaw began her dance journey at the age of 3. She was a member of the pre-professional dance company YouthMet as a teen and is trained in a range of dance styles. Her experience in dance includes but is not limited to the following styles: ballet, pointe, modern, modern/jazz, jazz, tap, Afro-Caribbean, Dunham technique, Ailey technique, Graham technique, Horton technique, liturgical, and West African dance.
