Social Worker vs. School Counselor: Which one is right for my needs?
- Mental / Behavioral health / Social Emotional services and resources
- Psychiatric / Behavioral crisis or emergencies
- Linkage to community-based resources
School Counselors support students in academic achievement, social-emotional wellness and career/school planning (like high school and college). They can help with things like:
- If you are being bullied or know someone who is
- If you are new to the school and having a tough time
- If you are upset about a family problem
- If you are having trouble with homework
- If you are having trouble with friends
- if you need some time to self-regulate or de-stress in the counselor's office
